The IVDP distinguished Quinta do Vallado with the award for best wine tourism project in the first edition of DOURO + SUSTENTÁVEL, during the celebration of Port Wine Day.

As João Alvares Ribeiro explained, the sixth generation Ferreira family's concern for the production of great Douro and Port wines has always gone hand in hand with the ambition to build a high-quality tourism project that enhances and supports our wines. Today, this project materializes in two units that are already a reference in the region: a wine hotel within the perimeter of the estate, near Régua, in Baixo Corgo, and more recently Casa do Rio, in Vila Nova de Foz Côa, Superior Douro, integrated in Quinta do Orgal.

In both cases a strict respect for nature is observed.
