Winery & Cellars

The new winery, built in 2019, was equipped with state-of-the-art technology to produce table wines and Port.

The architect chosen to develop this project was Francisco Vieira de Campos, from the Porto School of Architecture, who has already earned several architecture awards.

However, alongside its advanced technological methods, Quinta do Vallado also continues to use traditional foot-treading in lagares for some of its wines.

Oak Casks Cellar

Also in 2009, the construction of a new underground cellar was completed, with the capacity for 1,000 casks, where our best wines age in ideal temperature and humidity conditions.

Tawny ports are aged for many years in large wooden casks (tonéis) that have come down from one generation to the next.
