Aroma

Concentrated, with mature red fruit aromas, hints of violets and "esteva" (a local Portuguese resinous bush).

Taste

Good structure with mature round tannins and a persistent finish.

Vinification

80% of the grapes come from vineyards planted in the 90's and 20% from older vineyards, between 60 and 100 years old. The grapes ferment in 5 and 10 ton stainless steel vats, totally destemmed. Fermentation lasts for one week between 23ºand 25ºC with mechanical remontage.

Varieties

Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Sousão and old vineyards (field blend).

Ageing

70% for 16 months in stainless steel tanks and 30% in 225 litre used French Oak barrels (3rd and 4th use).
