Vallado

ABF Second Edition Very Very Old Port 1843
Vallado ABF Second Edition was launched in 2025. This is a limited edition (24 numbered bottles and 4000 5cl ampoules) of a unique wine, produced in 1843 and bottled in 2025 to celebrate and pay tribute to the history and legacy of Quinta do Vallado.
Aroma

An exceptional Port Wine that immediately stands out for its deep, seductive amber colour, with subtle greenish reflections that reveal its long maturation. On the nose, it reveals an impressive aromatic complexity, with layers of dried fruit such as figs and plums, hints of “vinagrinho”, touches of iodine and fine spices. On the palate, it surprises with its balance and freshness, culminating in an elegant and harmonious finish.

Varieties

This wine originates from vines that date back to an era pre-phylloxera, and as such it contains a selection of typical grape varieties of the Douro region: Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, Touriga Nacional and many other.

Taste

In the mouth, the vibrant freshness anticipated in the aroma is confirmed. It's a wine of great richness and depth, with an unctuous texture and remarkable concentration. Yet it is the fine, well-integrated acidity that balances all this intensity, prolonging the tasting with an explosive, persistent and memorable finish - as if the wine was reluctant to say goodbye.

Ageing

This wine aged throughout its long life in 650L wooden casks.
